Kano State Government has enjoined residents of Sabon Gari in Fagge Local government area to complement government efforts by ensuring regular sanitation exercise and clearing their drainage system to allow free flow of water ways and remove any obstacles for water to move freely.
The Commissioner for Environment and Climate change Rt. Hon. Nasiru Sule Garo made the call today while receiving Ballatuges/ Sarki Yaki Community who called on him in his office.
The Commissioner Said government is passionate and committed to improve the living Standard of its teeming populace regardless of tribes or religion to make their environment more habitable and conducive for living.
Meanwhile the Commissioner further called on the residents to always do the needful by desist from polluting or decaying the environment with nuisances or any particles capable of obstructing free flow of water system which may eventually cause stagnation, mosquitoes, bad roads inaccessibility among other complications.
Garo says people need to come together to put hands on desks with the government for actualization of its mandates, and pledged to look into their request with a view to finding lasting solutions.
Earlier, in her remarks Mrs. Scholastica Umejesi said they were at the commissioner office to congratulate him for his well deserved appointment and also to intimate him on some of the environmental issues bedeviling their areas which need urgent government intervention.
Similarly, the commissioner also received the Matasa gardeners association who called on him in his office, and renewed their support to the government with (2000) seedlings, as part of efforts to mitigate the effects of climate change and desertification.
