On Tuesday, Stallion Times and the Resource Centre for Human Rights & Civic Education (CHRICED) expressed willingness to promote public accountability through a robust collaboration.

This was disclosed in an advocacy visit to the latter.

The Stallion Times advocacy team was led by the Editor-in-Chief, Isiyaku Ahmed.

The team sought to explore potential areas of collaboration and partnership with CHRICED, a prominent civil society organization known for its advocacy strides.

During the visit, Ahmed highlighted the purpose of their visit, emphasizing the need to seek support from CHRICED, aiming to forge partnerships and explore avenues for collaboration to promote public accountability.

Specifically, Stallion Times proposed a partnership to support the tracking and reporting of the implementation of constituency projects, Maternal and Child Health Issues, and Human Rights, and add voice to public accountability.

He said: “In 2022, Stallion Times and CHRICED collaborated in producing 11 investigative reports on the administration of COVID-19 in Kano state under the Strengthening Maternal Healthcare through Accountability Interventions Project.

“That partnership revealed many issues in the Kano health sector and prompted action by relevant authorities.

“As we forge ahead, seek to sustain the working relationship.

In response, the Executive Director of CHRICED, Ibrahim Zikirullahi, appreciated the Stallion Times team and acknowledged their past collaboration and its results.

He appreciated Stallion Times being a reliable media organization that has published CHRICED’s press releases, success stories, and investigations.

CHRICED Boss commended Stallion Times for its consistency, good reputation, and integrity over the years, pointing out that the organization is a trustworthy partner.

He expressed a willingness to explore further collaboration opportunities.

Dr. Zikirullah said: “It is through collaboration that we can foster unity and speak truth to action.

“We will leverage this collaboration to act as the voice for the grassroots and fight for their rights.

“I believe that in doing so, we will achieve our respective goals collectively.”

Ibrahim reiterated the importance of collaboration in achieving common goals and assured Stallion Times of CHRICED’s continued support.

Both parties expressed gratitude for the opportunity to discuss potential collaboration and reaffirmed their commitment to working together to advance their respective objectives.

The courtesy visit underscored the importance of collaboration between media outlets and civil society organizations in promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance in Nigeria.

As both CHRICED and Stallion Times continue to pursue their advocacy efforts, their partnership holds the potential to amplify their impact and bring about positive change in society.
