Sokoto State Zakkat and Endowment Commission (SOZECOM) has organized a dinner in honour of the visiting members of ITYAH Center for Da’awa and Education, Katsina.
The delegation under the leadership of honourable Abubakar Yusuf, a member of Katsina State House of Assembly was in Sokoto for talks with officials of SOZECOM on how best to revive the Zakkat and Endowment center in Katsina considering the success recorded by the Commission in Sokoto.
Speaking shortly after the dinner, the Chairman of Sokoto State Zakkat and Endowment Commission, Malam Muhammad Lawal Maidoki expressed appreciation for the two-day working visit by officials of it’s Katsina state counterpart.
Maidoki commended the cordial relationship that exist between Katsina and Sokoto right from the era of Sheikh Usmanu bn Fodio, adding that SOZECOM would engage the visitors for talks on matters regarding Zakkat and endowment and the success so far recorded by the Commission in Sokoto state.
The leader of the delegation, Honourable Abubakar Yusuf commended the SIZECOM for the warm reception accorded them and assured that they would copy SOZECOM Sokoto method to improve the activities of Zakkat and endowment in Katsina state.
Yusuf further stated that the purpose of their visit is to learn about how Zakkat and Endowment activities is operated to achieve desired success.
The dinner was attended by the Cairman of SOZECOM and other officials of the commission including journalists in Sokoto.
The delegation has since departed for Katsina after their successful two-day working visit.
