The SFH team recently paid a courtesy visit to Honorable Hajiya Umma K. Ahmed to extend a congratulatory message to her on her appointment as Kaduna State Commissioner of Health.
The team was led by Dayyabu Yusuf, the Director of Health System Strengthening and the Northwest Programme Lead at SFH.
Yusuf conveyed SFH’s appreciation for the longstanding and productive collaboration spanning over 30 years between SFH and the Kaduna State Government.
He said the collaboration has significantly contributed to the enhancement of the health and well-being of the people of the State.
Yusuf also highlighted that SFH is actively involved in the implementation of six projects within the state including ANRiN, Adolescence 360, IntegratE, Global Fund Malaria, DISC, and the Global Fund NAHI.he mentioned while also provided a brief overview of each of the projects.
He emphasized the uniqueness of this partnership by noting that, in addition to projects funded by International Development partners such as USAID, GLOBAL FUND, and BMGF, SFH has a project funded by the Kaduna State Government itself – the ANRiN project.
“This demonstrates the high level of trust, mutual understanding, and confidence that exists in the enduring relationship between SFH and the Kaduna State Government,” he added.
He therefore appealed to the Honourable Commissioner for her continuous support to sustain this valuable partnership.
Responding, the Honourable Commissioner of Health expressed her gratitude for the visit and assured the SFH team of her unwavering support.
She acknowledged that the government relies on such partnerships with development organizations to effectively manage important sectors like health and education.
The Commissioner pledged her commitment to actively engage with each of the six projects to gain a deep understanding of their contributions and to explore ways in which the Kaduna State Ministry of Health can assist in overcoming challenges.
She also emphasized her determination to create an enabling environment to ensure the successful implementation of the projects.
