The Federal Government had been urged to declare Bello Turji and his cohorts wanted in connection with the acts of banditry and kidnapping for ransom in Sokoto east and parts of Zamfara state.

Senator Ibrahim Abdullahi Gobir made the call while speaking to Journalists over the week in Sokoto.

He said the atrocities committed by Turji and his associates in the northwest are enough and tantamount to declare them wanted by the federal government.

The senator further urged security operatives not to spare anyone found wanting in connection with the activities of criminal gangs terrorizing the peace and stability of the country.

“What people of the northwest want to hear from President Muhammadu Buhari is to declare Turji and his accomplice wanted.

“Yes, we heard that they were declared terrorists, but let them also be declared wanted by the Government to answer questions on the heinous crimes they committed against the innocent citizens over the years,” the senator averred.

Commenting on his intention to aspire for the Governorship of Sokoto state in the 2023 general election, the senator said arrangements are in the pipeline to aspire for the exalted office of the state when the time comes.

He said already his teaming supporters and associates have been approaching him to declare his intention to contest for Governorship of the state considering his huge potentials and wealth of experience to deliver the state from the shackles of insecurity and poverty.

“You can see, though the campaign has not started, my friends and well-wishers have stated donating vehicles with posters as a wake-up call for me to succumb to their aspirations come 2023,” Gobir said.

“I am studying the situation and as well making consultations with relevant stakeholders on how best to storm the situation when the time is ripe ” I am also ready to support and work with whoever emerged as our party candidate when due process is followed in the selection of the most suitable among the aspirants,” said the Gubernatorial hopeful
