After his late winner against Aston Villa, Scott McTominay of Manchester United says he doesn’t take his lack of regular starts “personally.” McTominay, a Scottish international, scored the game’s winning goal in the 86th minute off the bench, with goals from Douglas Luiz of Villa and Rasmus Hojlund of United.
The 27-year-old remarked during the Red Devils’ 2-1 victory at Villa Park that he was unfazed by his frequent cameo appearances under Erik ten Hag because he simply wants to give the club his all. “I feel that as long as I’m strong and healthy, I can come onto the pitch and perform,” he said to Sky Sports. I just want to come in and try to do the best I can for this; I don’t take it personally.

Although he has only made 12 starts in the Premier League this year, McTominay has scored four goals from the bench more than any other player in the English top division.
In all competitions this season, the Scot has tallied eight goals and provided two assists, and his efforts are undoubtedly helping United, who are currently only five points behind Tottenham in fourth place.
With their 40th Premier League win versus Villa (won 40, drew 13, and lost 5) at Villa Park, United tied the record for most wins by a club against a single opponent.
Throughout the Premier League era, they have also triumphed over Everton forty times.
United, who have now won three straight Premier League games, will visit lowly Luton Town on Sunday before playing Fulham, who are now in the middle of the league, on the following weekend. They travel to Nottingham Forest on the road for the fifth round of the FA Cup to cap up the month.
