In response to the criticism he has faced in the media, Marcus Rashford has defended Manchester United and reiterated his dedication to the team.
In a lengthy piece for the Player’s Tribune, Rashford has defended his loyalty to United in the face of harsh criticism for his recent performances. He has also taken aim at the media after reading several accounts of a wild night in Ireland and parking charges that appeared in several publications.
“I’m not trying to have a go at the media,” Rashford added. You know what I mean, I know how the game is played. It’s not like they’re writing about me. It appears as though they are penning a story on “Marcus Rashford.” It can’t be limited to me as a 26-year-old guy out on the town or a boy.

It must have something to do with the price of my automobile, my jewelry, my tattoos, or even my weekly wage. It has to do with my demeanor, people doubting my morality, people making assumptions about my family, and people wondering about my football career. It has a tone to it that not many football players have. That’s all I have to say about it.

“I believe that the epidemic played a part in some of it. I was merely attempting to use my voice to ensure that children weren’t going without food since I am fully aware of how that feels. That seems to irritate some folks, for whatever reason. It appears like they have been anticipating my human moment so they can accuse me and say, “See? See who he really is?”

“I’m not a perfect person, listen to me. I’ll be the first to own up to my mistakes and accept that I need to improve. But I have to say something if you ever doubt my dedication to Man United. It feels like someone is challenging every aspect of my identity and everything that makes me a man. This is where I grew up. I have been a member of this club since my childhood. When I was a child, my family declined life-altering money so that I might wear this badge.”

In an effort to regain his form, Rashford further states that he will stop at nothing to represent the United jersey, saying: “I’m open to criticism. Any headline will do for me. from newspapers, social media, and podcasts. It’s okay with me. But I would just ask that you show a little more humanity if you begin to doubt my dedication to this team, my love of football, and my inclusion of my family.”

This season, Rashford has three assists in addition to five goals in the league. Six points behind fifth-place Tottenham and eight behind fourth-place Aston Villa in the Premier League standings, United is now in sixth place.
