According to sources, Marcus Rashford is a top candidate to succeed Kylian Mbappe at Paris Saint-Germain.
The Manchester United forward’s longtime admirer Luis Campos of PSG is said to have had discussions with Rashford two years ago on a potential transfer to the French capital. This information is according to The Sunday Times. Though PSG lost their valued player for free, Mbappe’s impending departure, which was announced earlier this week, frees up a significant portion of the team’s budget.
There are several reasons why the Rashford connection makes sense, and it is an intriguing one. The England player offers the same attacking capability when positioned on the right side of a three-man frontline from a tactical perspective. From a profile standpoint, Rashford’s entrance would provide some glitz and mystery, even though it would be impossible to match Mbappe’s box office attraction.
After an outstanding season, Rashford signed a new contract at Old Trafford last summer. The agreement, which lasts until 2028, appears to put an end to speculation regarding the player’s future.
