On Saturday, French farmers continued their national protests, claiming the government’s actions to put an end to the rallies did not go far enough to satisfy their requests for higher wages and improved living circumstances.
The administration of Prime Minister Gabriel Attal withdrew plans on Friday to progressively cut state subsidies on agricultural fuel and announced further measures to lessen the administrative and financial burdens that many farmers bear.

The largest agricultural organization in France, FNSEA, declared that it would continue its demonstrations, and on Saturday, a large number of farmers stayed behind barricades erected along key highways and motorways.
Farmer Natacha Guillemet told BFM TV, “The actions announced by Attal are not adequate, they will not boost our financial flow.”
Others persisted in threatening to erect barricades throughout Paris.

In the French town of Beauvais in the north, protesters also staged a silent march in remembrance of farmers who had passed away recently; some of these farmers committed suicide as a result of the strain of their jobs.

The largest agricultural producer in the EU is France, whose farmers are protesting in line with similar actions taking place in other European nations like Germany and Poland. Many of the protestors claim that globalization and international competition are hurting their country.
