Over 530 intending pilgrims have deposited their money in the account of the Jigawa state pilgrims’ welfare board as National Hajji Commission (NAHCO) allocated 614 seats to the state for the 2022 hajji exercise.

The Director Admin and Finance and also acting executive Secretary of the Jigawa state Pilgrims Welfare Board Alhaji Mustapha Umar revealed this to newsmen in Dutse capital.

He said, they received a letter of seat allocation from NAHCO for the 2022 exercise and now they are waiting for the commission to inform them of the Hajji fare.

“As we received the allocation, already 530 people have deposited their money for 2021 exercise which was canceled, but they left their money with us against 2022 exercise.

“We in Jigawa state resolved to consider those who allocated theirs since last year before others and as soon as NAHCO announced this year Hajji fare we will mobilize them to complete the money.”

He however revealed that the remaining seats will be sold according to the first CE first serve and promised to ensure justice in releasing the seats.

Mustapha also reiterated the commitment of the board to ensure complaints to the Saudi Arebiya and NAHCO guidelines for the exercise, including the compulsory Covid-19 vaccine.
