The National Youth Congresses for Better Nigeria (NYCBN) has faulted a plan by former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo to form a pressure group against president Buhari’s leadership, describing it as a calculated move to destabilize Nigerian democratic system.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the National president of the NYCBN comrade Ali Wali and made available to newsmen in Dutse, Jigawa.
The statement accused Chief Obasanjo for envying the reputation, international recognition and gain strides of President Buhari in liberating Nigeria from the sixteen years PDP’s maladministration which plunged the country in to Social, Economic and Security crisis.
“This country have never been subjected to much damages than the sixteen years PDP held power, out of which former president Olusegun Obasanjo led for eight years.”
“Every Nigerian is a witness to the naked corruption, human right abuse, and violation of Nigerians constitution perpetuated during the reigned of Obasanjo administration which the long-term consequences is now manifesting from all angles.”
According to the statement, since the failed attempt by Obasanjo to secure third term and also became a Nigerian life president, the former President has been working day and night to smear and sabotage any person that become Nigerian’s president.
It further stated that, the plan by the former president to organise Civil Societies and other Anti- Buhari group to form a coalition for antagonizing president Buhari and any other ping pointed politician is nothing rather an attempt to intimidate Nigerians to succumbed to his antics.
“it’s high time for Nigerians to wake up and stop falling into traps of destructions set-up by people like Obasanjo.
Therefore, the Group called on Nigerian to remain resolute in their believe to the true democracy, to resist any plan to aggravate the state of country’s fragile politics and ensure they are always associated and voted for patriotic people.
