The Kano Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), greets the Muslim Ummah on completing the Ramadan fast.

In a Sallah message jointly signed on Wednesday by the Chairman and Secretary General of the Council, Comrade Abbas Ibrahim, and Abba Murtala respectively to mark the end of the Ramadan fast by Muslims in Kano, said: “As we celebrate Eid-El-Fitr, we hope that Muslims will cultivate the lessons of the holy month which preaches, sacrifice, tolerance, and love.

“As the value of the Naira further appreciates, prices of goods are expected to reduce while measures should be employed to check the artificial scarcity of essential commodities.

“The proactive response of the Kano police command and sister security agencies in uncovering plots to disrupt Sallah celebrations is highly commendable; parents should guard their wards against bad company.

“Journalists should endeavor to ensure strict adherence to ethics of the profession while media organizations should adequately respond to entitlements and welfare of practitioners for greater output.

“We wish Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, the five Kano Emirates, and entire Muslims a joyous Sallah period.”
