NPFL: Kano Pillars Trash Lobi Stars 3-1

Former Nigeria champions Kano Pillars Fc trashed Lobi stars Fc of Makurdi by 3-0 in match day 31, Sunday, in ongoing 2020/2021 Npfl season at Ahmadu Bello Stadium Kaduna.

Youngest Kano Pillars Fc striker, Umar Hassan aka Maggi scored the first goal in the 37 minutes of play with assist from Fahad Usman inside the yard box.

The game went into half-time 1-0 in favour of the home team.

In the 51 minutes of play David Ebuka scored the second goal with a powerful header after he intercept a corner kick from Fahad Usman and Rabi’u Ali aka Pele completed the job in the 65 minutes of play.

With this development now, Kano Pillars Fc is in the second position in the table with 53 points in thirty-one matches.

In his post-match interview with sports writers, the Acting Technical Adviser of sai masu gida, Ibrahim A. Musa expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah and commended his players for the job well done.

Coach Ibrahim said some changes he made in the team played a significant role for the victory and assured that they would remain focused in the remaining matches in order to ensure that they win the league.

“In the next remaining seven matches to rounded up the league, we would ensure that we maintain hundred percent home record and go and win two or three away matches to consolidate our target,” coach Ibrahim said.

On his part, Kano Pillars Captain, Rabi’u Ali aka Pele pointed out that they are set to face each of the remaining matches as final match that would give them the trophy.

Rabi’u also described the victory as some collective efforts of players, technical crew, management and entire fans of the club and urged everyone to sustain the tempo.

He also said today’s victory is a warning signal to the Smart Fc of Lagos ahead of their encounter on Wednesday (7/7/2021) at confluence stadium Lokoja in the round 32 of this year’s Aiteo/Federation cup.
