The Kano State House of Assembly had on Wednesday July 14, 2021 invited the suspended chairman of the Public Complaints and Anti-corruption Commission (PCACC), Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado to appear before its ad-hoc committee investigating a petition against him.

Responding in a letter (attached with Medical records from National Hospital, Abuja) to the House, Muhuyi Magaji through his lawyer, Usman Fari cited health grounds for not appearing before the House.

“Our brief further reveals that a letter with reference No. KNHA/CON/007 dated the 12th of July was dumped in our client’s residence while our client was away on medical appointment at National Hospital Abuja on the said 12th of July late in the evening.

“Copies of both the letter and medical records are herewith enclosed for ease of reference,”

‘’Our client is very willing and ready to honour the house invitation; however, he must be obliged adequate time in line with medical advice of his physicians.’’ Fari said.

Investigating the matter, the Kano State House of Assembly wrote to the National Hospital to ascertain the authenticity of the medical records.

In its reply dated July 19, 2021 with reference number NHA/CMAC/GC/0117/2021/V.I/01 and signed by the Director, Clinical Services, Dr. A. A. Umar, the National Hospital state the following;

 “Following your request on the above, and the subsequent investigations, we wish to state the following findings:

“There is no patient named Muhuyi Magaji in our hospital record and no folder was opened in that name.

“That by our records, the name and signature of doctor (Dr. Bayo) on the Medical Report do not belong to any staff of the National Hospital Abuja.

“Laboratory investigations in the National Hospital are no longer manually written on paper but electronically transmitted.

“In the light of the above, Sir, the Medical Report/documents, which you attached its photocopies are NOT authentic,” the hospital said.
