The Acting Managing Director, Nigerian Port Authority (NPA) Muhammed Bello Koko has in his magnanimity sponsored 2 female students of Koko/Besse Local Government area Kebbi state to study Bsc program in new Delhi India.
In a letter of appreciation sent to the Managing Director by Comrade Abdullahi Saidu Koko secretary, Koko Youths Education Development Association (KOYEDA), and made available to newsmen on Friday, it was stated that the two female students Aisha Kabiru and Fatima Yahaya Bande are to study in India for a BSc degree program in Medical Radiography and Imaging technology as well as Physiotherapy in Strarex University New Delhi, respectively.
The letter further disclosed that the two female students would be the first female indigenes of the Koko/Besse Local Government area to study outside the shores of the country and the first medical graduates.
The leaders of KOYEDA described the gesture made by the acting managing director as groundbreaking and door opening for those at the helm of affairs to emulate.
The letter read: “With gratitude to Almighty Allah and on behalf of the Executive council and members of Koko Youth Educational Development Association (KOYEDA) in collaboration with Bright Girls Empowerment, Progress & Development Initiative, commended the Acting MD, NPA Muhammed Bello-Koko (Mande) and his brother Alhaji Shehu Bello Koko for a wonderful gesture.
“The MD and his brother Alhaji Shehu Bello released Eleven million, two hundred and eighty thousand Naira (N11,280,000) to Sponsor the 2 female students for four years (4) degree programs in Strarex University New Delhi, India.
“Sir, this gesture has demonstrated your unflinching desire to eradicate illiteracy and to improve the educational Development of our Youths. You have indeed signified and visualized the vision of your father Sarkin Koko, Mallam Bello Koko a former Education officer in the Gwandu Native Authority (Gwandu NA) who was nicknamed by many as Jami’in yan Boko.
“We are fully aware that your father desired to impact and transmit knowledge to the children of the less privileged in the society during his days as a teacher, a headmaster, and Education officer which we so much appreciated” as stated by the KOYEDA secretary.
“We appreciate you for all your contributions to the educational development of our society. May God continues to bless you and wish you success in all your endeavors.”
