Mbappe and Enrique Have in-person Conversation After Monaco Substitution

Luis Enrique and Kylian Mbappe are said to have discussed the forward’s substitution against Monaco on Friday night after their argument.
Enrique subbed Winger Kolo Muani for Mbappe at halftime in the Ligue 1 match against the Red and Whites, marking the second straight game in which the French star was taken off the field before the final whistle.

Instead of warming up on the bench with his teammates after his substitution, Mbappe was seen lounging in the stands, which raised rumors of a developing rift between the two.
The two had discussions to close the gap on Saturday at the Paris Saint-Germain training facility, according to a report from RMC Sport. Enrique gave an explanation of his choice to replace Mbappe during the Monaco game during the conversation.

According to reports, Enrique feels that Mbappe has changed as a player since suffering an ankle injury during the 3-1 victory against Brest in the Cup de France. In addition to controlling his playing time, the coach wants him to be at full strength for next week’s Champions League match against Real Sociedad. As the Parisians headed into the business end of the season, both parties attempted to address the situation in a productive manner, despite their differences.
Enrique had previously stated that he wished to get PSG ready for life beyond Mbappe. Also, it makes more sense to play in Ligue 1 without him than in the European competitions, where the opposition is more difficult to beat.

PSG, who currently hold a 2-0 lead, will next travel to Spain to play Sociedad. It also won’t be shocking if Mbappe is substituted again by his manager, who is committed to lessening the team’s reliance on the superstar, if they score early at Anoeta.
