Lee Group Donates 1.5m Face Masks to 7 States

Lee Group, a steel, footwear and plastics industry has revealed that, the company has begun distribution of one million five hundred thousand face masks to seven states across the federation as part of its assistance towards curbing covid-19 pandemic.

This was disclosed by Director of the Company Alhaji Ahmadu Haruna Zago. According to him, the company had in collaboration with Kano state government embarked on streets and markets spraying as well as distribution of hand washing materials to major markets in Kano.

“This is part of what the company had started already in the fight against the spread of the virus in Nigeria. Lee group is among companies with large number of employees in the country as such the company is willing to do its best the fight against the virus, hence the donation of huge number of face masks,” he said.

The Director also revealed that Lagos, Ogun and Kano state will get 300, 000 face masks each, Abuja federal capital territory and Jigawa state will get 200, 000 each while Osun and Ondo will get 100, 000 each.

He further stated that the fight against the spread of the virus should not be a government affair along; he called on all well-meaning investors and other cooperate bodies to render assistance in any way they can.

Similarly, the donation was extended to the Nigerian immigration service where it’s comptroller General Muhammad Babandede commended the Lee group for the support.

Twenty thousand pieces of the face masks were also presented to the Nigeria Customs Service; Deputy Comptroller General Umar Sanusi received the items on behalf of the Comptroller General Hamid Ali.

A Director of the company Ahmadu Zago presented the face masks to the presidential task force on covid-19 in Abuja.

While presenting the face masks to the presidential task force, Ahmadu Zago said the motive behind the gesture is to stop the spread of the virus, noting that covid-19 is real.

Lee Group is the second largest employer of labour in Kano after the state government.
