The Ag. Managing Director, Kano State Consumer Protection Council (KCPC) Hon. This was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by KAROTA spokesman, Nabilusi Abubakar K/Na’isa.

According to the statement, the former National President, NIFST, Dr. Dahiru J. M Adamu while presenting the award described Hon. Baffa as a patriot who prioritize the safety of his people above everything else.

He said Hon. Baffa works to ensure that fake and unwholesome products unfit for human consumption are not allowed in the State.

“Since the emergence of Hon. Baffa Dan’agundi, Kano has witnessed a tremendous change in the fight against expired, fake and unwholesome products which were in every nook and crannies causing deaths and other health fatalities,” he added.

Adamu said the award couldn’t have come at a better time considering the fact that Hon. Baffa from the beginning of the year till date has confiscated and destroyed such products worth over N2billion and the fight rages on.

“The two bodies deemed it necessary to appreciate the MD and encourage people of the State to accord him and the Council necessary support by providing relevant information needed to checkmate activities of those in the illegal business harmful to humans lives,” he added.

Receiving the award, Hon. Baffa Dan’agundi stressed that the Council will not relent on it’s mandate to rid the State of products considered dangerous to consumers’ health as more mechanism are being put in place for effective delivery.

He said, KSCPC will not spare anyone caught transacting illegal business and would prosecute defaulters according to the laws of the State to serve as deterrent to others who aspires to go in that line.

Hon. Baffa recalled that since he started work at KSCPC, the Council has seized and destroyed uncertified, expired and fake products worth billions of Naira.

He called on citizens not to hesitate to furnish his office with relevant information that will aid their operations as his doors are always opened.
