Following the recent suspension of the state APC Financial Secretary over alleged misappropriation of fund, the Chairman of the State Executive Party Caretaker Committee of the All-Progressives Congress (APC), Arch. Bala Sañi Kangiwa has described the suspension of the Financial Secretary of the Party by few Executive members as illegal.

Bala stated this while briefing newsmen in Birnin Kebbi in his reaction to the alleged suspension of the state APC Financial Secretary over alleged misappropriation of party fund.

He explained that, he as the Chairman of the party did not order for any state executive meeting or asked his Deputy Chairman to be acting for him while he was away.

According to him, “in the first place, the meeting was not legally convened. So, if the meeting is illegal, any action taken therein is equally illegal.”

Bala explain further that the party has a constitution which guides the party and it is clearly stated in the constitution how a meeting should be convene, he therefore said   the purported meeting held has contravened the party constitution.

“It is only the Chairman that has the right to call for a meeting, in the absence of the Chairman, if I had handed over to the Deputy Chairman, if my absent will be for a long time, I would have directed my Deputy Chairman to take over and he could have convened a meeting” he added.

While appealing for peace, the APC Chairman of the Caretaker Committee in the state, urged the aggrieved executive to shelves their swords and allow peace to reign.

“I am appealing to my colleagues and those outside the party, pushing them, to please, returns their swords into its shield and let us try and allow peace to reign in the party.

“Our Governor, who is our leader in the state and other national leaders of the party have been going round the states to reconcile members and gather more new members into the party.”

“Now, here, some people are bringing problem.  And by the time they are bringing problem to the state executive, they are creating more problems for the party in the state.”

“And that is not good for Kebbi state which is know to be almost 100 percent for APC. That is not good for our Governor who is also the Chairman APC Progressives Governors Forum, he added.”
