A bill to establish a drug control agency in Kano has passed second reading in the state house of assembly.
The Hon. Commissioner of Health, Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa made the disclosure while fielding questions from newsmen at a press conference for the commemoration of World No Tobacco Day held at the Ministry of Health conference hall, Monday.
According to the Commissioner, the bill when passed into law and the agency established, it will help to reduce the high rate of drug abuse in the state.
“Very soon, we will have an agency that will work with other stakeholders to control drug abuse in the state,” he assured.
