Kano state Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba has inaugurated the Local Organizing Committee for planning and coordinating the upcoming 75th General Assembly of Broadcasting Organizations of Nigeria (BON).
This was contained in a statement by the Director Special Duties, Kano state Ministry of Information, Sani Abba Yola.
In his inaugural remarks, the Commissioner announced that the General Assembly would hold in Kano from October 6-8, 2021.
He said the committee members were carefully selected based on their capacity and experiences in their various working areas.
In her remarks, the Director General, Abubakar Rimi Television (ARTV), Hajiya Sa’a Ibrahim, who doubled as BON chairman, commended the state government for its tremendous support to the organization.
She said the General Assembly would bring together over 200 Chief Executives of both Radio and Television stations as well as other stakeholders in the broadcast industry.
According to the statement, the committee has the Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba as Chairman; Director General, ARTV Hajiya Sa’a Ibrahim as co-chair.
Members of the Committee are Managing Director Radio Kano, General Manager NTA, Director Information, Ministry of Information, Director News and Current Affairs ARTV, Chairman, Kano Council of NUJ, Station Manager, Arewa Radio, and Chairman Forum of Media Chief Executive Officers.
