The Kano State Government has issued a three-match ultimatum to the management and technical crew of Kano Pillars FC to reverse the dwindling fortunes of the club

The ultimatum announced by the Acting Commissioner of Youths and Sports, Hamza Safiyanu Kachako is coming as a response to the team’s recent poor form in the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.

Affectionately known as the “Sai Masu Gida,” Kano Pillars suffered a setback in their last outing, succumbing to a 2-1 defeat against Bendel Insurance of Benin.

Prior to this loss, the team endured consecutive defeats, including a 1-2 home loss to Shooting Stars and a humiliating 5-0 defeat at Enyimba.

The Commissioner emphasized the unwavering commitment of the state government, under the leadership of Abba Kabir Yusuf to Kano Pillars in their quest for success.

However, he made it clear that decisive action must be taken to reverse the team’s fortunes, stating that the government will not stand idly by while the beloved Kano team falters.

Therefore, he tasked management and technical crew to turn things around in the next three crucial games, beginning with the upcoming match against struggling Gombe United on Sunday at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.

This will be followed by an away fixture against former champions Akwa United and a home encounter against Doma United.

Kachako, who expressed gratitude to Governor Yusuf for his support, called on loyal fans to continue rallying behind Pillars.

Pillars are presently 7th on the log with 41 points from 30 matches played so far in the 2023/2024 NPFL season.
