Kano Governor Signs 2023 Supplementary Budget into Law

- Assures fiscal discipline, accountability and transparency in governance

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf has assented to the 2023 Supplementary budget worth fifty-eight billion, one hundred and ninety-one million, five hundred and thirty-five thousand, eighteen Naira, twelve kobo (N58, 191, 535, 018.12).

This was disclosed in a statement late Friday by the Chief Press Secretary to Kano State Governor, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

Tofa said: “While asserting the budget, Governor Yusuf assured the good people of Kano state that his administration will adhere to the principles of fiscal discipline as the money appropriated will be judiciously utilized in an accountable and transparent manner.

“This supplementary budget is meant to take care of the infrastructural development that was not captured by the 2023 budget to meet the aspirations of the good people of Kano state.”

According to Tofa, the Governor appreciated the efforts of the Commissioner, Planning, and Budget for the speedy process of the budget document to the state assembly.

He also said the Speaker of Kano State House of Assembly, Right Hon. Jibrin Ismail Falgore who led the Principal officers of the assembly and its appropriation committee, presented the bill for the assent of the Governor at Africa House, Kano Government House.

The Governor also craved continued support and a harmonious working relationship between the executive and the legislative arms of government in Kano state.
