Kano Confiscates Fake Malaria Drugs Worth Over N2m

Kano State Ministry of Health Task Force Committee on Fake Drugs has on Thursday confiscated suspected fake antimalaria drugs worth over N2million at Malam Kato Motor Park in the State capital.

Presenting the confiscated items to the Commissioner of Health, Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa, the Task Force Chairman, Pharm. Gali Sule lamented the attitude of the unscrupulous elements that are bent on sabotaging the government and other stakeholders’ efforts in fighting the malaria scourge in the country.

On his part, the Commissioner received the items with shock considering the enormous resources that is being expended in the provision of effective and qualitative malaria drugs and Long-Lasting Insecticides Treated nets in the State.

Dr. Tsanyawa further assured the government determination in the provision of Free Health Care to pregnant women and children under five years, who are most vulnerable to malaria attack.

The Commissioner also applaud the Governor for according healthcare sector top priority in the state.

He then assured that the ministry in collaboration with all relevant stakeholders would to pursue the case until when the perpetrators of the crime were brought to book.
