Kano State House of Assembly has urged the state government to take urgent measures and renovate Sani Abacha stadium Kofar Mata in Kano Municipality immediately after the coronation ceremony of Emir of Kano Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero which Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is going to perform on the 3rd, July.

Speaker of the house, Engineer Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari made the called while presenting awards of Excellence to Super Eagles Captain, Ahmed Musa, Kano Pillars Fc Captain, Rabi’u Ali and the Acting Technical Adviser of the Club, Ibrahim A. Musa during the club’s training session at Bukavu Barrack in Kano on Friday.

The Speaker represented by his Deputy, Alhaji Zubairu Hamza Massu said the call had become necessary considering the security and other challenges the team is facing while traveling week in week out to Kaduna state to honour their home matches in the ongoing season.

He said they are in the training session to thank players, technical crew and management of the club for their outstanding performance so far and urged them to sustain the tempo.

“On behalf of this honourable house, we are appealing to Kano state Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje to immediately after the coronation ceremony of the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero next week, to take urgent measures to renovate Sani Abacha stadium, Kofar Mata in order to return sai masu gida back to their home ground,” the speaker emphasized.

Responding on behalf of the awardees, Super Eagles Captain, Ahmed Musa thanked the State House of Assembly for the award and concern they are showing to the team all the time.

Ahmed Musa then urged Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje to do more in supporting the club in order to end the problem that is militating the team, especially now when the league is coming to an end, the players need more motivation.

The Super Eagles Captain also said considering the highest number of youths in the state that are passionate in sports there is need for the Kano state government to have a standard international Stadium and other sporting facilities.

“Since I joined Kano Pillars Fc this season, I’m doing my possible best to see that the players meet their target objective to win the league and I will not relent my efforts in that direction,” Musa said.

The Deputy Speaker was in accompany of the Chairman Sports Committee, Alhaji Nura Alassan Rano and members representing Dawakin Tofa, Nasarawa and Tarauni local government constituencies during the visit.
