In a bid to ensure accessed to education for all children, member representing Y’ankwashi constituency at the Jigawa state house of assembly, Alhaji Abduraham Alkassim, has donated 300 bicycles to primary and junior secondary students in his constituency.
The beneficiaries were selected from the students who trek long distance daily to school from their villages.
Speaking at the distribution of the bicycle to the beneficiaries, Hon. Abdurrahman said, he resolved to make the gesture after realizing that many of the students go to school late everyday because of the long-distance trekking.
He noted that, the provision of the bicycle will help the students to reach their schools easily and timely and above the all motivating them to be more factual in pursuing their education.
Hon Abdurrahman promised to continue supporting students in the area to achieve their education desire and became productive in the society.
During the presentation of the bicycle to the student held at Karkarna town, the lawmaker also presented empowerment materials to 300 people including women youth and farmers to boost their business.
The empowerment packages included: 50 motorcycles to youth, 170 water pump generators to dry season farmers, 50 bags of 10 kg beans and 50 gallons of cooking oil to women who produce beans cake (kosai) to boost their business.
