Jigawa Gov’t Releases N483.8m for Payment of Workers Gratuity

Jigawa state government has released the sum of N 483,888,468.63 payment of pension and other entitlements to 209 workers who retired from service in December, 2021.

Speaking to the newsmen on the preparation to ensure timely completion of the payment exercise, the Executive Secretary (ES), Jigawa State and Local Government Contributory Pension Board, Alhaji Kamilu Aliyu Musa said, the state Governor Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar directed the board to ensure settlement of workers entitlement before the end of the year.

He said a total of number 209 workers entitlement will be paid during the exercise.

Alhaji Kamilu noted that, the exercise is not a new business to the board, as such payment is carried out in every quarter of the year.

He explained that, the payment included: retirement benefits, Death benefits, death pension balance, refund of 8% contribution and refund of underpayment for workers from state, local government and local education authority.

According to him, 156 workers will receive the sums of 355,590,823,09 while 41 to be paid N118,222,306,43 as death benefit, 11 to received N10, 025,760, 88 as pension balance and N47,568,23 as refund of 8% contribution to 1 person.

The Chairman assured the workers in the state that, the board will continue to protect their interest and ensure their money is in safe hands for timely payment of their entitlements.

He also commended the state Governor Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar for his indefatigable support to the board which makes their work easier and successful.
