The Senior Special Adviser (SSA) to Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on Food Security and a contestant for the APC chairmanship position in Kano State, Honorable Ahmad Haruna Zago has distributed food items worth over 10 million Naira to the needy in Dambatta Local Government Area (LGA).
The items were distributed on behalf of the SSA by the former chairman, Dambatta LGA, Idris Haruna Zago and honorable Usman Marke.
Each of the 10 political wards got 15 bags of rice and Spaghetti for onward dispersal to orphaned families, community-based associations and religious leaders.
Speaking at the event, Usman Marke said the gesture was part of the SSA’s usual support to the less privileged during Ramadan, adding that, the aim is to reduce the burden of ever-rising cost of living that has affected many people adversely, especially the vulnerable.
“I hoped these food items would strengthen the beneficiaries in their commitment and devotion during this holy Month of Ramadan to pray for peace, prosperity and security of Kano and Nigeria at large,” he added.
A beneficiary, Rufai Safiyanu Goron-maje thanked Allah for using Haruna Zago to touch the lives of the poor and prayed that he sustained the effort.
Auwal Wadata Sansan, another beneficiary was full of praises and called on other well-meaning indigenes of Dambatta to emulate Hon. Ahmad Haruna Zago.
