Four Die in Badagry Building Collapse

At least four persons have been confirmed dead following the collapse of a two-storey under construction at Flour Mills Estate, Magbon in Badagry, Lagos, on Wednesday afternoon.

This was disclosed in a statement on Wednesday by the acting Coordinator, South-West zone, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Ibrahim Farinloye.

According to the statement, “a two-storey building under construction at Flour mill Estate collapsed at about 1300 hour this afternoon.

“Five workers were rescued alive with various degree of injuries and taken to Catholics hospital at Magbon while four died who were being taken to Badagry General Hospital by the Police.

“The families and relations of the affected victims have been identified by the relations of the victims. The building is located behind a dwelling structure. Rescue operations have been concluded now.”

Stallion Times report that the incident comes two weeks after a 21-storey building located in the Ikoyi area of Lagos collapsed, which led to the death of 45 persons, including Femi Osibona, the owner of the building, which was also under construction.
