Khadijat Saidu, Birnin kebbi

Kebbi State Governor, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has taken up the challenge of mobilizing local hunters and ‘Yan Tauri (group of invisibles) to operate jointly with conventional security for decisive and incisive onslaught against bandits.

The governor spoke with emotional patriotism while addressing local hunters and ‘Yan Tauri who paid him sympathy visit at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi on the unfortunate kidnapping of students and staff at FGC Birnin Yauri.

Bagudu made it clear that as the Chief Security Officer of the state that he is prepared to sacrifice his life to lead the attack to chase the criminals to wherever not only to rescue the abducted students but also to deliver final blow to banditry in the state.

The governor extended general invitation to all local hunters and ‘Yan Tauri to massively mobilize themselves to confront the bandits at their hideouts in the forest and putting an end to their activities of bloodshed and carnage.

He explained that discussions would be held with security agencies not to interfere with their operational strategies, but warned that “enough-is-enough”.

He said as the governor of the state who took oath with the glorious Qur’an to protect lives and property of the citizenry, he would not stay in office while hardened criminals kept on killing, maiming people and stealing their hard-earned possessions.

The governor revealed that some of the students and staff abducted by the criminals have regained freedom while combined security operation was on-going to rescue the rest.

Meanwhile, Bagudu commended the Army, the Police, the DSS, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, vigilante and volunteer groups for remarkable performance against the bandits who have now been encircled with no room for escape in the bush.

In a related development, the Governors of Jigawa and Ekiti state have on behalf of all the governors sympathized with Kebbi State Government over the abduction of the students.
