Economy: My Dream is to see Kebbi Exporting Milk, Meat, Shear butter, Honey——-Bagudu.

Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi state said his administration is committed to ensuring that children of school age receive quality education at all levels; this was revealed during a media parley with Journalists in Birnin Kebbi.


He said statistics of all children in the state including the almajiris would be taken to identifying their parents or guardians as well as register children of migrant Fulanis, Fishermen and Traders who move from one place to another.


Bagudu further pledged to sustain support to farmers, fishermen and nomadic Fulanis especially women empowerment for economic prosperity, saying loan disbursement was made to them last year in addition to training of Fulani women and provision of forty nomadic schools in the state.
He therefore assured the provision of fertilizer and other farm input to enhance agricultural production in the state.

He was glad that Kebbi state has recently recorded an upsurge of industries especially, rice mills, tomatoes processing factory.

The Governor announced that the Federal Government has designated Birnin Kebbi airport to handle cargo to facilitate trade with foreign countries.

Speaking on​ his​ administration’s​ post covid-19 economic plans for​ Kebbi state, ​ Bagudu said​ in spite of the pandemic, one of the biggest tomatoes’ factory in the country have​ started operating in the state, while the​ ethanol initiative by his administration​ in the state is​ progressing rapidly, he said the​ state have also registered about 10,000 additional gold miners.


Bagudu lament that covid-19 pandemic has affects​ most country in the world, he said even in the United States, about 30 million people lost their jobs​ as a result of the pandemic which has affects so many businesses across the country. ​ Adding that a lot of businessmen need stimulus to sustain their business.


He stated that significant portion of the government resources will be used for economic stimulus activities because there is need to improve on production and sustainable economic.

Governor Bagudu therefore said his administration will continue to stretch further by​ improving more on economic production, adding that​ “My​ dream is to see Kebbi​ produce more crops, exporting meat, milk, fisheries, shear butter and honey; ​ that is my economic plan for the state ” he said.
