CRUDAN Trains Journalists on DRR and Peace Building

The Christian Rural and Urban Development Association of Nigeria (CRUDAN), North West Zone, has trained journalists on the reportage of Disaster Risk Retention (DRR) and Peace Building.

The objectives of training are to increase Knowledge-base of participants on Disaster risk reduction and peace building, create and sustain media collaborations on DRR and Peace Building, and to equip participants with the requisite knowledge and tools to promote safety and resilience to conflicts and disaster.

This is coming with a view to restructure risk writing to avoid hate speeches and build peace in Nigeria.

The training which took place in Kano on Wednesday had participants from across different media stations in Kano and Jigawa states.

The North West Zonal Facilitator, James Obadiah cited lots of issues with regards to the recent killings of Muslim that created havoc by a section of people in Plateau state.

He encouraged journalists to always apply professionalism in reporting chaos and other anarchical issues in the society for peace to reign.  

He said Islam and Christianity condemns killing of people, no matter what the crime is.

Earlier, in his welcome address, Engineer, Dr. Victor Dilli Jatau, urged participants to be cautious and listen attentively to the issues and practice what they are taught during the training.
