In the US, Rema’s “Calm Down” has now sold 6,000,000 copies. “Calm Down,” which was one of the lead singles released in 2022 in front of Rema’s debut album “Raves & Roses,” has continued to be incredibly successful commercially.
“Calm Down,” featuring Selena Gomez, has earned an RIAA 6-time platinum certification for its continued popularity as the most financially successful African song in the United States. The song has sold 6,000,000 units to date.
The “Calm Down” remix was a huge hit in the United States, where it stayed on the Billboard Hot 100 for more than 52 weeks. In addition to becoming the greatest peak for a Nigerian song, “Grazing in the Grass” by Hugh Masekala in 1968 became the second-highest peak for an African song at its No. 3 peak on the chart.

With a record-breaking 1 billion streams, Rema’s song “Calm Down” is the most streamed Afrobeats song on Spotify, among many other records. It is currently the most viewed Nigerian music video on YouTube as well.
