Speaking on Friday, President Joseph Biden announced that the United States will start airdropping aid into Gaza, one day after numerous Palestinians lost their lives in a violent altercation with Israeli forces.

The president made the announcement following reports that on Thursday, Israeli troops opened fire close to where large crowds were assembling to receive supplies from an aid convoy, leaving at least 115 Palestinians dead and over 750 injured, according to Gaza’s Hamas-run health ministry.

The air drops, according to Biden, will start in the “coming days.”
Israel said that many of the dead were trampled in a stampede connected to the mayhem and that some of the crowd members moved toward them in a way that seemed menacing to its troops.

While receiving Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni at the White House, Biden made the announcement.
