The Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru says the first batch of beneficiaries of the State overseas scholarship scheme would depart by May this year.
He disclosed at the swearing-in of the newly appointed Senior Special Assistant, Special Assistants, Chairmen, and Members of reconstituted boards in his office Centenary City, Abakaliki.
The Governor explained that out of 1000 beneficiaries, 300 will pursue their Master’s and Doctor of Philosophy Degrees in any country of their choice, while 700 will do the same in Nigerian Universities.
He said: “We are planning to establish 39 specialized secondary schools in the State and the idea is that the beneficiaries will be absorbed immediately after graduation.”
The Governor reiterated his stance on delivering quality and effective democratic dividends for the greater good of all.
