Bandits have released 74 out of the 85 kidnapped victims of Wanzamai village in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
An indigene of the area, Abubakar Na,allah, told Newsmen that the 74 victims were released on Friday night, adding that the remaining 11 persons were yet to be seen.
He said, “The bandits have yesterday (Friday) night released 74 victims out of the 85 they had kidnapped. We have yet to see the remaining 11 persons and we don’t know what happened to them.
“As I told you earlier that they (bandits) collected additional N3m promising to release our people and now they have released 74 victims. They (bandits) did not tell us whether the remaining 11 persons were alive or not.”
Na,allah said some of the victims were receiving treatment while others had been united with their families.
Both the state government and the state police command were yet to issue statements on the release of the victims.
