Bagudu Urges NLC to Mobilize Members Towards Strengthening National Unity

Governor Atiku Bagudu has acknowledged the contribution and support of the Nigerian Labour Congress NLC to the diversification of the economy.

Bagudu made this known at the 2021, May Day Celebration held at the Presidential Lodge Birnin Kebbi.

The Governor said Covid-19 has stagnated economic growth globally as many have suffered arising from dwindling revenue.

He urged the Nigerian Labour Congress NLC and the Trade Union Congress TUC to mobilize their members towards strengthening the unity of nation against divisive tendencies by certain elements.

Governor Atiku Bagudu announced that Kebbi State Government has received approval for the cultivation of forty thousand hectares of cassava in the state.

Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu reminded the gathering that Covid-19 has not been surmounted worldwide which made it necessarily for people to adhere strictly to its protocols and by vaccinated.

The State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Umar Haladu requested the State Government to approve enrolment of Civil Servants into the State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency KECHEMA to enable them access quality and affordable healthcare service.

Comrade Umar Alhassan who commended the Atiku administration for saving certain amount of money monthly for the payment of gratuity appealed to the government to effect payment of the reserved funds.

He further urged the state government to pay 2020 leave grant to state civil servant, LGEAs and local government staff to enable them enjoy Ramadan fast with ease.

Highlights of the occasion include paper presentation by Professor Mukhtar Umar Bunza with theme; Covid-19 Social and Economic crises: challenges for decent work, social protection and people’s welfare.
