Tunisia, ranked third in Africa, is defeated by Bafana Bafana, who advance to the Africa Cup of Nations Round of 16.

Initially, Hugo Broos’s squad played defensively in an attempt to limit Tunisia. Yet the opposition didn’t use a high line, which created gaps in the middle.

After thirty minutes, Bafana began to gather steam, but Tunisia’s forceful tackling halted the South African attack.

Both sides had a somewhat mediocre effort, and the first forty-five minutes ended with no goals for either team.

As both teams attempted to break the tie in the second half, which was equally fierce, South Africa was able to sneak a point to move on to the next round. Nevertheless, Tunisia is eliminated from the competition.

By displaying their physical prowess, the Tunisians skillfully took advantage of the fact that their rivals aren’t the most physically powerful countries in the competition.

They should be commended for their attitude, even though some supporters were offended by it because they thought the referee was too soft on their strong tackles.

More expectations were placed on the South African squad going into the most recent game, despite their outstanding performance against Namibia in the previous game.

On the other hand, they seemed to be playing for a draw, with less offensive strength than they did against the Brave Warriors.

For the whole match, South African supporters were glued to their seats due to the team’s performance.

Based on a head-to-head record, South Africa placed second in Group E, ahead of Namibia in third. Mali, the group leaders, finished first in the group with five points.

In the Round of 16, Bafana will now play the victor of Group F, while Mali and Namibia will play Burkina Faso and Angola, respectively.

After returning home, the Tunisians will evaluate how they performed throughout the competition.
