The Board of Directors and staff of the Resource Centre for Human Rights & Civic Education (CHRICED) congratulates Dr. Otive Igbuzor on his 60th Birthday.
Dr. Igbuzor has contributed significantly over the years to efforts and initiatives in Nigeria, aimed at strengthening democracy, fostering the rule of law, and respecting fundamental freedoms.
As a scholar and practitioner in the field of development studies, Dr. Igbuzor’s ability to conceptually clarify key issues in the development and governance spaces has made him a source of cutting-edge and innovative ideas, which should put Nigeria on the path to fulfilling its potential as the undisputed giant of the African continent and global leader of the Black race.
Sadly, despite the outstanding achievements of patriots such as Dr. Igbuzor, Nigeria has remained prostrate in realizing its political, economic, and cultural potential. Poverty, corruption, bad governance, and a sense of foreboding for what the future holds envelop the country.
In the face of these setbacks, it is noteworthy that Dr. Igbuzor has refused to take the path of least resistance due to his unwavering belief in the potential of our country. Irrespective of the odds stacked against the Nigerian people, Dr. Igbuzor has remained a very calm, calculated and conceptually relevant voice, insisting that this country would truly become the best it can be.
As the pro-democracy icon and unrelenting activist celebrates the milestone of attaining the age of 60, CHRICED heartily felicitates with him and wishes him many more impactful returns of the special day.
