According to reports, Arsenal is planning a £165 million summer double push for Michael Olise of Crystal Palace and Alexander Isak of Newcastle United.
The Guardian claims that one of the Gunners’ “main targets” is Newcastle striker Isak, but he would cost £100 million ($124 million), while Olise, a winger for Palace, is valued at £65 million ($80.8 million). This season, the former has scored 21 goals across all competitions, while the latter has struggled with injuries and only managed six goals and three assists. The Mirror also reports that the north London team is monitoring Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig and Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres, as well as Wolves’ Pedro Neto and Nico Williams of Athletic Bilbao.

These reports follow Arsenal’s elimination from the Champions League by Bayern Munich on Wednesday, and their defeat at home to Aston Villa last weekend, which ended in a 2-0 loss, put Manchester City in the lead to win the Premier League. Some places have reported that Mikel Arteta’s team is losing steam, so bolstering the Gunners’ roster would be a smart move in their attempt to win championships.
Isak was apparently extensively scouted by Arsenal while he was at Real Sociedad, but Newcastle signed him in 2022 for a reputed £63 million. The Guardian also notes that Brentford’s Ivan Toney is no longer a target for them, although Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic is another option.

Arteta’s team will play mid-table Wolves on Saturday in an attempt to maintain their Premier League title hopes after their Champions League loss to Munich. Next Tuesday, they will host Chelsea.
