In compliance with the Prophetic Tradition as regards the blissful explanation and how prayers are accepted by the Almighty Allah during the Arafat Day in Islam, Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR of Kano organized special prayer session where 360 Islamic Clerics, Imams and other leaders, converged at Africa House, Government House, Kano, Thursday, and prayed to Allah to save the state and the country against Covid-19.

This was contained in a press statement signed by Abba Anwar, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Kano State.

According to the statement, the Governor disclosed that “We are here for two major reasons. We are all aware that Covid-19 is a trial from Almighty Allah. We can see how many nations of the world are suffering and battling with the pandemic. After doing our best, it is absolutely necessary for us to pray harder against it.

So that we can continue to have Allah’s Blessing and Mercy to see to the end of this pandemic. And secondly because of the security challenges facing our neighbouring states and other parts of the country, we are equally praying for Allah’s continued help to save all our states from insecurity plaguing them.”

The statement further stated that the Gov. Ganduje prayed that, “May Allah save Southern Kaduna, Katsina, Zamfara, Sokoto and Niger states from the disturbing insecurity facing the states. May He continue to protect our state and the entire country.”

He urged all Imams to pray harder for the state and the country in general during Eid-Prayer and Juma’at prayer tomorrow. Adding that, prayers are extremely necessary at the time when all the necessary health care measures are strictly followed, as directed by health professionals.

The Governor finally called all to continue observing all the protocols, as enunciated by health professionals.
