As part of its Industrialization policy Jigawa state government has succeeded in wooing 50 companies for investment in the state agro-business and mining sector
The state Governor Malam Umar Namadi revealed this during a media interrection on his hundred days in office and the journey so far.
“On our Industrialization policies, over 50 Campaniles indicated interest to invest in agro-business and mining in the state, out of 19 are already on the ground.
“Our “One Shop” investment policy which simply all the investment process provides a guarantee for safety and return the major factor that facilitated this achievement within a short period of time.”
He explained that, since assuming office on 29 May 2023, his government has been reviewing and repositioning the state ministries agencies, projects, and programs to build from the legacy of the immediate past state government.
The Governor noted that his 12-point agenda designed to fulfill all campaign promises and make Jigawa prosperous and great has cut across all aspects of the social and economic sphere.
Malam Namadi stated that, in pursuen of the agenda he selected and appointed over 70 special advisers competent MDs and commissioners to support the journey.
” Under this agenda, we split the Ministry of Education into two, we review student scholarship to cover a minimum of 50 percent of their registration fees, paid registration fees to over 4,000 higher institution students of fewer privilege families”
“Currently, we are working for mass recruitment of teachers both permanent and temporary to address the huge gap in the sector, all to ensure our children receive quality and sound education.
“We have also reviewed our Tsangaya (Quranic schools) system, and came up with a policy that will integrate it into formal education for addressing out-of-school children and Almajiri syndrome.”
The governor however revealed that, in the last 100 days, they empowered over 4, 000 youth and women. with a minimum grant of N50,000, while seven skill acquisition centers are under renovation and reequiping to achieve the demand driving training and empowerment, job creation, poverty eradication and micro economic development.
“Our agricultural policies have already started with sales of fertilizer to farmers at over 40% subsidized price, procurement of 60 tractor units, expanding cluster farming program, and provision of improved seeds and other farm implements at an affordable and accessible price.”
Malam Umar Namadi however revealed that his government has reviewed and improved free Maternal and child healthcare services to checkmate the high rate of child and maternal death in the state.
“As part of our effort to tackle the perennial flooding, we constructed over 100 km embankment around flood-prone communities against any eventuality in this raining season, also dragging over 50 km of Hadejia river.”
He then assured the people of the state that, his government would not betray them, and it would do everything possible within its resources to deliver them to promised land,
