On Thursday night, the Memphis Grizzlies dealt guard Victor Oladipo and three draft picks to the Houston Rockets in exchange for center Steven Adams. Due to injuries, neither Oladipo nor Adams have participated in any games this season.

The Grizzlies stated they received three second-round draft picks from the Rockets in the trade when they made the announcement late on Thursday night.

According to ESPN, two of the picks will be made in the draft this year and the other one in 2025. Adams underwent surgery to repair his injured right knee shortly before the current campaign got underway. Despite being projected to miss the full season, he ought to be ready to play the following one.

Prior to the knee injury, Adams, a Pittsburgh native who was selected with the 12th overall choice in the 2013 NBA Draft, spent two seasons with the Grizzlies, averaging 8.6 points and 11.5 rebounds, including 5.1 on the offensive glass. Before moving to Memphis, he spent one season with the New Orleans Pelicans and seven with Oklahoma City.

Oladipo, who has also experienced injury setbacks, has averaged 16.9 points per game in his career since being chosen with the second overall choice in 2013 out of Indiana. Yet, for the previous three years, his score average has dropped.

Oladipo had his greatest season with Indiana in 2017–18, averaging 23.1 points, 4.3 assists, and 2.4 steals per contest.
