The State House of Assembly has received 2023 proposed supplementary budget transmitted on Monday.
The 2023 proposed supplementary budget is meant to sharpen the focus of the budget to deliver on its objectives by accelerating the executions of priority projects in the State part of the budget.
However, the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf seeked the House deliberations and subsequent approval in accordance with section 121 (a) and (b) of the 1999 constitution.
Today’s plenary session was presided by the Speaker, Hon.Jibril Ismail Falgore who called on the State Government to construct a road from Mahuwa through Janguza Gari to Durum road.
This was followed by a motion moved by Hon. Muhd Bello Butu Butu, Deputy Speaker and Member representing Rimin Gado/Tofa Constituency and was seconded by Hon. Usman Abubakar Kiru member representing Kiru Constituency.
Similarly in today’s session the House has agreed to call on the State Government to provide a Fire Service Office, vehicles and equipment to Garko LGA.
The motion was moved by Hon.Murtala Muhd Kadage, member representing Garko constituency.
In another development the State House of Assembly also moved the motion for the supply of water treatment plants to Dawakin Kudu communities.
These communities include Gano, Dawakiji, Zogarawa,Yar Gaya and Jido.
However, the Kano State systematic land Titling Registration Bill, 2023 which was sponsored by Hon. Tukur Muhd (Fagge constituency) has scaled first reading by the Clerk and Head of Legislative Service Alhaji Ali Maje.
The House adjourned sitting to Tuesday in a motion moved by the Majority Leader Hon. Lawan Husaini Dala and was seconded by Hon. Sule Lawan Shuwaki.
However, the supplementary budget is currently receiving legislative treatments.
