The Federal Government will provide Palliatives to 36 States and Abuja to alleviate suffering as a result of petroleum subsidy removal and economic hardships.
Vice President Kashim Shettima disçlosed this in Sokoto while flagging off the distribution of N5 billion worth of assorted grains procured by the Sokoto state government.
He said arrangements were being finalized by the federal government to assist states with Palliatives for distribution to the poor and less privileged in society to curtail the hardships experienced as a result of fuel subsidy removal and the rising cost of foodstuffs and other essential commodities in the country.
“The effort made by the Sokoto state government is worth commendation in all ramifications,” the Governor has done extremely well which earned him the leadership of northwest in the area of social welfare and human development.”
He said if all states were to go by the current happenings in Sokoto the issue of hunger and poverty would be reduced to the barest minimum.
