The appointment of the former Kano State Commissioner for Information and Home Affairs, Mallam Muhammad Garba as Chief of Staff to the APC National Chairman has been described as an acknowledgment of hard work and loyalty.
VICCDA, a media-based Non-governmental Organization made the assertion in a statement by its Acting Chairman, Otunba Gbenga Onayiga.
He said Mallam Garba’s choice as Chief of Staff would greatly help in reengineering the political party.
“Mallam Garba’s wealth of experience as a union leader, accomplished journalist, astute administrator, and public servant would surely propel the leadership to reposition the party,” said the NGO Chairman.
Otunba Onayiga noted that Garba’s commitment, diligence, and exemplary leadership had left an indelible mark in NUJ where he was National President for two terms, and in Kano State where he served meritoriously as Commissioner for Information and Home Affairs for another two terms to the delight of all.
“Mallam Muhammad Garba has always been steadfast, dedicated, unwavering, and committed to upholding the values of integrity and excellence. Indeed, he is a man of the people and remains a shining example for all. No wonder the present national leadership of NUJ last year honoured Garba as a good ambassador of the profession and a Media Icon,” Onayiga declared.
He prayed for continued God’s wisdom and protection for Garba to make a success of his new position.
