Sokoto Constitutes Committee to Review Auction of All Government Assets

Sokoto State Governor Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto has approved the constitution of a Committee to review what he calls the wasteful auction of state government assets by the immediate past administration in the state.

The committee according to the press secretary to Governor Abubakar Bawa has Alhaji Jelani Kalgo as Chairman, Colonel Garba Moyi as a retired member, Alhaji Isah Sadeek Achida member, Abubakar Salame member, Ibrahim Hassan, and Harande Mahe.

Other members of the committee include Dalhatu Sidi Mamman, Nasiru Shehu Bodinga, Sanusi Danfulani, Nasiru Manjo, Muazu Suleiman, the representatives of the state ministry of works, state Board of Survey, the Police, the DSS and NSCDC while Alhaji Mustapha Alkali will serve as secretary of the committee.

 The Committee according to the press secretary is to investigate all auctions and sales of Government assets by the former administration of former Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.

The committee after its findings will advise the government on how best to recover all items sold without due process.

However, the committee has no specific date to submit its report
