The Northwest Ex-Officio member of the People Democratic Party and also one of its Bigwigs in Jigawa, Alhaji Aminu Nuhu Jahun has decamped to New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
Speaking while formally announcing his decamping and receiving an NNPP membership card at his hometown in Jahun local government of the state, Aminu Jahun said he decamped to NNPP because PDP in Jigawa state is no longer a people’s party.
He said he took the painful decision to dump the party he served for 24 years because the party in Jigawa state has been hijacked by some individuals and turned into tools for personal vendetta.
Jahun also stated that his illegal suspension from the party, smearing campaign against his reputation, and deviating from the party philosophy which made the party lose its relevance in his beloved state are among the factors that forced him to quit the party.
“I was invited by the PDP Jigawa State Working Committee and quarried for attending the swearing-in of the Kano State Governor who happened to be an NNPP, so is this enough reason to suspend me from the party, this is stupidness.
“I have been in PDP for 24 years now. Served as the State Publicity Secretary, vice chairman in charge of Jigawa central senatorial district and elected as the Northwest Ex-Officio member of the party in Kaduna, now given such treatment, surely I can’t tolerate it,” Jahun said.
He however stated that thousands of his political associates and many other members victimized by party leaders will soon announce their resignation from the party in Jigawa state.
