Sokoto State Governor, Dr. Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto has pledged to provide an all-inclusive government where citizen’s yearnings and aspirations would be heard.

The Governor made the statement while addressing a mammoth crowd of All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters and well-wishers shortly after he was sworn in on Monday as duly elected executive Governor of Sokoto state under the platform of the APC.

He said his administration would focus attention on the prevailing insecurity facing the state, social welfare, and economic development, adding that traditional institutions as custodians of culture and traditions would receive the desired attention.

According to him, the perennial water potable shortage experienced in Sokoto metropolis would soon be a thing of the state, adding that water is an essential commodity of life that every serious Government would not joke with.

He said the 9 points agenda of his campaign would be keenly followed one after the other with a view to ensure that, all are implemented to the later.

The Governor further stated that his administration would be the extension of the administration of his father the former two-term Governor of the state Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.

Aliyu maintained that his administration would work hard to provide basic necessities of life to the teaming people of the state who were left helpless in the last eight years of the past administration.

In another development, the new administration in the state is starting from scratch as the outgoing former Governor of the state Aminu Waziri Tambuwal failed to provide or present handing over documents to the incoming administration, which would serve as a guide.

The attitudes of the outgoing administration toward the incoming government have left doubt in the minds of many citizens, the incoming administration will not take long before it commences probing former Governor Tambuwal who is said to have left behind over 89 billion naira debt.

The Governor has earlier made a statement during a political debate with other Gubernatorial candidates at Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto where he said was not against taking loans to develop the state, but quickly warned that anybody who took a loan and squander it would be asked to refund immediately or be prosecuted.

“You either show us the project you executed with facility or return back our money (Ko Kudi ko aiki) one must be done,” the governor said.
