Musa Na Allah Sokoto
The Sokoto state will commence the airlift of intending pilgrims from the state on Friday.
Alhaji Shehu Muhammad Dange, the Permanent Secretary of the State Pilgrims Welfare Board, disclosed this while speaking to newsmen Wednesday.
He said the state has a total of 5,304 prospective intending pilgrims.
“The board has secured befitting accommodation for the pilgrims both in Medina and Makkah.
“We are currently processing visas and Basic Transport Allowance (BTA) for the pilgrims.
Dange further revealed that the BTA was reduced to USD700 due to an upward review of Airfares by Airline operators as a result of the ongoing crisis in the Republic of Sudan.
He however advised pilgrims to be good ambassadors of the state and the nation at large.
